The primary mission of the Elgin Lions Club is to provide eyeglasses to the community. This vision is achieved by working with U-46 and the Community Crisis Center.
We also work on local food drives, provide college scholarships, other local activities, as well as providing support for the Lions of Illinois Foundation and Lions International
We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you.
The Elgin Lions Club is open to individual membership for the yearly fee of only $75 which covers state and international dues.
See the Contact Us page!
We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. Thank you for your time and donations that makes this possible!

The Elgin Lions were quite pleased to host 10-year-old Zoe at our February 6th meeting. She is an American Heritage Girl, a Christian oriented Scouting program, at Harvest Church in Elgin. Zoe is currently working on a badge called All God's children and is learning about disabilities. She needed to do a service for others and chose to make 28 braille valentine's day cards! She used some textured heart stickers and small raised dot sticker gems to spell out "feel the love" in braille. The Lions will be sending these cards to people with sight impairment throughout the Elgin area.
The photo is of Zoe along with Elgin Lions President Sue Bruneau in front of the American Legion's Valentines Tree.
The Elgin Lions took Zoe's cards to the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin as well as Horizons for the Blind in Crystal Lake for their visually impaired patients.
Here is the message from Marklund:
"I wanted to share with you a photo of a resident with one of the cards Zoe made. The staff here from the nurses to therapist could not believe

"I wanted to share with you a photo of a resident with one of the cards Zoe made. The staff here from the nurses to therapist could not believe how thoughtful Zoe was to take the time to make these special cards.
We are very grateful to Zoe and the Elgin Lions Club. Happy Valentine's Day!"
Zoe clearly personified the slogan of the Lions Clubs all over the world:
WE SERVE
Since the Elgin Lions Club is a part of the National and International Lions, the local club regularly donates to global areas in need of humanitarian assistance. In 2022, funds have been forwarded to Lions International to assist in funding help for the war relief in Ukraine, flooding in Western Kentucky, the Puerto Rico hurricane, Pakistan flooding, and the Florida hurricane!
As a part of the Lions fund raising, the Elgin Lions Club has "sponsored a puppy" that will one day become a leader dog. Growing up in Michigan, "Walter" (in the photo) is a German Shepherd and described as "confident, fun-loving, and playful!" See the link below for more information.
